NOTICE
QUALIFYING OFFICIALLY OPENS IN THE CITY OF WALDO ON
OCTOBER 5, 2026
QUALIFYING DATES:
- Qualifying Opens – October 5, 2026
- Qualifying Closes – October 15, 2026 at 4:00 PM
SEATS OPEN:
- Mayor: Two-Year Term – Currently held by Louie Davis
- Council Seat II: Two-Year Term – Currently held by Glen Johnson
- Council Seat V: Two-Year Term – Currently held by Monique Taylor
CANDIDATE PACKETS:
- Candidates must complete and return the Candidate Packet by the close of Qualifying on October 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM.
- Printed Packets are available at City Hall.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualifying Fee: $25
- OR The Candidate may submit a petition signed by Twenty-Five Registered Electors of the City of Waldo. Petitions may be obtained at City Hall, Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. This petition must be presented to the Clerk after being verified in writing by the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections.
- State Elections Assessment Fee: $42
- The fee is 1% of the annual Council Member salary.
- Candidate must be a permanent resident of the City of Waldo.
- Residing within the corporate city boundary lines for a minimum of six (6) months prior to the Qualifying Date of October 5, 2026.
- Candidate must be a Qualified Elector of the City of Waldo.
- Must present a current Voter’s Identification Card when qualifying.
